easyJet is to launch three new routes this winter from the UK to Bulgaria, Portugal and Austria, including two new routes from Liverpool Airport and one from Gatwick Airport. Flights from Gatwick to Sofia, the Bulgarian capital, will start from November 6th 2007.

easyJet is to launch its first flights this winter from Birmingham
International Airport. The budget airline will be flying to Geneva, in Switzerland, and the French city of Grenoble starting in December, to expand on it's "ski services" to the French and Swiss Alps.

Long haul budget airline Zoom Airlines is in talks about launching flights from Cardiff Airport to New York, USA.
A spokesman for the airport confirmed that it was talking to the airline after Zoom began daily flights between Gatwick and New York's John F Kennedy International Airport earlier this week.

The cost of an adult passport will increase from £66 to £72 this October, the third price rise in under two years.
The price increase was requested by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. The body says it needs more funding to cover the cost of helping British travellers who get into difficulty abroad.

In a poll which may be of interest to those considering investing in overseas property, Turkey has been identified as one of the best tourism destinations by an industry magazine.
German publication Tourist Report placed Turkey second in a list of 12 Mediterranean and Black Sea locations ahead of Spain, Altinkum Voices reported.

According to the Post Office Holiday Costs Barometer, Bulgaria
is significantly cheaper than most other European holiday destinations. Items such as a cup of coffee, a bottle of beer, a packet of cigarettes and a three-course meal are far cheaper in Bulgaria than they are in Cyprus, France or Greece.
According to the Post Office, foreign currency sales for Bulgaria were up 83 per cent in the two weeks before Easter, when compared with 2006.
